Sam Spiegel and Koool G Murder have composed the music for the upcoming comedy Bad Grandpa. The film is directed by Jeff Tremaine (Jackass movie series) and stars Johnny Knoxville who punks strangers while in character as senior citizen Irving Zisman. Knoxville and Tremaine are also producing the MTV Films production with Spike Jonze (Being John Malkovich, Adaptation) and Derek Freda. Unlike the filmmaker’s Jackass features, the movie is said to have a plot connecting the stunts and pranks together and follows Zisman who is tasked with taking his grandson to live with his father after his mother is jailed. Spiegel who is also known as Squeak E. Clean has previously scored a number of shorts for his brother Spike Jonze. His music was also featured in some of the previous Jackass installments. Koool G Murder has collaborated with Spiegel on a number of scores and songs. Bad Grandpa will be released nationwide on October 25, 2013 by Paramount Pictures.
