Premiering on Wednesday, August 7 in the US is the British mini-series Broadchurch created by Chris Chibnall (United, Torchwood) and starring David Tennant, Olivia Colman, Vicky McClure, Jodie Whittaker, Andrew Buchan, Will Mellor and Arthur Darvill. Ólafur Arnald (Another Happy Day) has composed the original score for the series. Mercury Records has released a soundtrack EP featuring the composer’s music. Premiering on Saturday, August 10 on Starz is the British TV series The White Queen based on Philippa Gregory’s bestselling historical novel series The Cousins’ War and starring Rebecca Ferguson, Max Irons, Janet McTeer, James Frain, Amanda Hale and David Oakes. John Lunn (Downton Abbey) has composed the show’s original score. The first season of the drama, which follows three women in their quest for power and caught up in the long-drawn-out conflict for the throne of England in 1464 will air every Saturday on Starz. Also premiering on Saturday night is the HBO original movie Clear History directed by Greg Mottola (Superbad, Adventureland) and starring Larry David, Jon Hamm, Bill Hader, Philip Baker Hall, Kate Hudson, Michael Keaton, Danny McBride, Eva Mendes, Amy Ryan and J.B. Smoove. The film’s original score is written by Academy Award-winning composer Ludovic Bource (The Artist). Relativity Music Group will release a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music, as well as songs by the rock band Chicago on August 13.
