Philip Glass has reunited with director Godfrey Reggio on his upcoming feature Visitors. The project marks the fourth film that the director and composer have collaborated on following the Qatsi Trilogy formed by the films Koyaanisqatsi, Powaqqatsi, and Naqoyqatsi. It was announced today the movie will celebrate its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival where members of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra will perform Glass’s score live. Visitors is presented in Black and White digital 4K projection and is said to “reveal humanity’s trancelike relationship with technology, which, when commandeered by extreme emotional states, produces massive effects far beyond the human species”. Jon Kane is producing and editing the project and Steven Soderbergh is presenting the film. The music was recorded in Linz, Austria last Octobert. Cinedigm has picked up for domestic rights for Visitors and is planning a theatrical release this fall.
