Only one new movie is opening wide this weekend:
Guaranteed to top the weekend box office is the superhero sequel Iron Man 3 directed by Shane Black and starring Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Guy Pearce, Rebecca Hall, Stephanie Szostak, James Badge Dale, Jon Favreau and Ben Kingsley. The film’s original music is composed by Brian Tyler (Eagle Eye, Fast Five, The Expendables). Hollywood Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score earlier this week. Opening in limited release is the romantic comedy Love Is All You Need co-written and directed by Susanne Bier and starring Pierce Brosnan, Trine Dyrholm, Sebastian Jessen, Molly Blixt Egelind, Paprika Steen, Kim Bodnia and Christiane Schaumburg-Muller. The film’s original score is composed by Johan Soderqvist who has previously collaborated with the director on such films as After the Wedding and Brothers. Also opening in limited release is the indie drama What Maisie Knew directed by Scott McGehee & David Siegel and starring Julianne Moore, Alexander Skarsgård, Steve Coogan, Joanna Vanderham and Ontana Aprile. Nick Urata (Crazy Stupid Love, Ruby Sparks) composed the film’s original score. Milan Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music, as well as the title song Feeling of Being (What Maisie Knew) by Lucy Schwartz. Also opening in select cities is the crime thriller The Iceman directed by Ariel Vromen and starring Michael Shannon, Winona Ryder, James Franco, Ray Liotta, Chris Evans, David Schwimmer, Robert Davi and Danny Abeckaser. The film’s original score is composed by Haim Mazar. A soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music will be released next week. Check back on this site for the full details. The movie, which follows notorious contract killer Richard Kuklinski from his early days in the mob until his arrest for the murder of more than 100 men premiered at last year’s Venice and Toronto Film Festival and is being released by Millennium Entertainment. Another limited release this week is the indie drama Generation Um… written and directed by Mark L. Mann and starring Keanu Reeves, Bojana Novakovic and Adelaide Clemens. The film’s original music is composed by Fall On Your Sword (Another Earth, Lola Versus). No soundtrack album has been announced at this point. Generation Um… is set in New York City and follows three adults during a single day filled with sex, drugs, and indecision. The movie is being released by Phase 4 Films and is also available on VOD. Also opening in select theaters is the horror film Kiss of the Damned written and directed by Xan Cassavetes and starring Joséphine de La Baume, Milo Ventimiglia, Roxane Mesquida, Anna Mouglalis, Michael Rapaport, Riley Keough and Ching Valdes-Aran. Steven Hufsteter (Unhook the Stars) has composed the film’s original score. A soundtrack album is reportedly in the works. Kiss of the Damned centers on a beautiful vampire who tries to resist the advances of a handsome, human screenwriter, but eventually gives in to temptation.
