brian-tylerBrian Tyler has signed on to score the pilot for the Fox drama Sleepy Hollow. The show is created by Alex Kurtzman & Bob Orci (Star TrekTransformers) and Phillip Iscove and stars Tom Mison, Nicole Beharie, Orlando Jones, John Cho and Katia Winter. The supernatural thriller is based on The Legend Of Sleepy Hollow and follows Ichabod Crane as he partners with Sleepy Hollow’s Detective Abbie Archer to solve the mysteries of a town ravaged by the battle between good and evil. Len Wiseman (Live Free or Die HardUnderworld) has directed the pilot. Kurtzman & Orci are producing the 20th Century Fox Television production with Wiseman and Heather Kadin. Tyler has previously collaborated with Kurtzman & Orci on the TV shows Hawaii Five-O, Transformers Prime and the feature Eagle Eye. Fox is expected to announce later this month if Sleepy Hollow will be picked up to series.

Tyler is also scoring the pilot for the NBC drama Hatfields & McCoys. The show is created by John Glenn and stars James Remar, Sophia Bush, Virginia Madsen, Rebecca De Mornay, Jesse Lee Soffer and Nick Westrate. The drama is modern day take on the famous feud between the legendary families and is set in present day Pittsburgh. The show follows the blue-collar McCoys as they to war with the wealthy Hatfields after a shocking death reignites their decades-long enmity. Michael Mayer (A Home at the End of the WorldSmash) has directed the pilot episode. Glenn is executive producing the ABC Studios production with Charlize Theron and Dawn Parouse (Prison Break). Tyler has previously scored Glenn’s feature directorial debut The Lazarus Project. NBC will announce later this month if Hatfields & McCoys will be picked up to series.

Tyler’s recent film scores include Iron Man 3, which opens today and Now You See Me, which is coming out later this month.

    Good for him. Smart man. Not only keeping these film contacts going, but also continuing to collaborate with them on their Television projects as well.

    Much better pay than the movies, if these series get picked up and I sincerely hope they do.
