Premiering tonight is the HBO original movie Phil Spector written and directed by David Mamet and starring Al Pacino the t he legendary music producer and Helen Mirren as his defense attorney Linda Kenney Baden. Jeffrey Tambor, James Tolkan and Martin Jarvis are co-starring. The film’s original score is composed by Marcelo Zarvos who has previously scored a number of HBO films, including You Don’t Know Jack for Barry Levinson who is executive producing Phil Spector. Also premiering this week in the US is the BBC America original series Orphan Black. The show is co-created by Graeme Manson (Flashpoint) and John Fawcett (Spartacus) and stars Tatiana Maslan, Jordan Gavaris, Dylan Bruce, Maria Doyle Kennedy, Michael Mando, Kevin Hanchard (Republic of Doyle) and Skyler Wexler. The 1o-part conspiracy thriller centers on an orphan outsider who witnesses the suicide of a stranger who looks just like her and assumes her identity hoping that cleaning out the dead woman’s bank account will solve all of her problems. Trevor Yuile (Being Erica, King) is the composer of the show. Orphan Black is set to premiere on March 30 and will air every Saturday night on BBC America.
