Intrada Records has announced the world premiere release of the soundtrack for the 1973 western Cahill United States Marshal directed by Andrew V. McLaglen and starring John Wayne, George Kennedy and Gary Grimes. The music is composed and conducted by Elmer Bernstein. The album features the complete score from the film, including an unused cue for the ending, as well as the song A Man Gets to Thinkin’ performed by Charlie Rich, written by Bernstein with lyrics by Don Black. The label has also released a CD featuring the world premiere of two soundtracks to Paramount films directed by Don Siegel (Dirty Harry). First up is the score for the WWII action film Hell is for Heroes starring Steve McQueen, Bobby Darin, Fess Parker. The music is composed and conducted by Leonard Rosenman. Also included is the score for the 1979 prison drama Escape from Alcatraz starring Clint Eastwood composed and conducted by Jerry Fielding.
