Sony Classical is set to release two of this year’s most anticipated soundtracks, including the album for the latest James Bond film Skyfall. The release features the film’s music composed by Thomas Newman. The soundtrack is set to be released overseas on October 22, 2012 and is expected to come out in the US around the same time. Skyfall directed by Sam Mendes and starring Daniel Craig, Javier Bardem, Judi Dench, Naomie Harris, Berenice Marlohe, Ralph Fiennes, Albert Finney and Ben Whishaw marks Newman’s first film in the Bond series. The label is also releasing the soundtrack for the 3D adventure film Life of Pi, which is considered to be a likely major contender during the upcoming award season. The album includes the movie’s score composed by Mychael Danna who has previously scored the director’s The Ice Storm and Ride with the Devil. More details on the album will be revealed soon.
