Last night, WQXR’s Movies on the Radio show premiered the first couple of tracks of the score for Disney’s upcoming sci-fi adventure John Carter. The music is composed by Michael Giacchino who recently recorded his orchestral score for the film in Los Angeles. During the one-hour show, Giacchino also talked about his other recent projects, including Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol and Super 8. The segment with the tracks from John Carter starts around the 44:00 minute mark. The movie directed by Andrew Stanton and starring Taylor Kitsch, Willem Dafoe, Lynn Collins, Thomas Haden Church, Samantha Morton, Dominic West, Mark Strong, James Purefoy and Bryan Cranston will be released in theaters on March 9, 2012.   1. I can’t wait for this movie to come out. I’m a fan of the book from which the film was adapted. I just hope this movie lives up to my expectations.
