According to Evolution Music Partners, Nathaniel Mechaly is set to return to score the upcoming action sequel Taken 2. Liam Neeson will be reprising his role as the retired government operative Bryan Mills from the Pierre Morel-directed 2008 hit film. Maggie Grace is set to reappear as Neeson’s daughter. The movie will be directed by Olivier Megaton (Transporter 3, Colombiana). Deadline has reported a few months ago that Luc Besson has teamed up with Robert Mark Kamen to write the project’s screenplay. With principal photography not expected to begin until the end of the year or early 2012, not much else is known about the project at this point. The EuropaCorp production will be released by 20th Century Fox in the United States and a release in late 2012 or 2013 is expected.
Mechaly has recently written and recorded almost two hours of music for Megaton’s action thriller Colombiana starring Zoe Saldana, which is being in theaters released later this summer. Visit our previous article for more information on the film and to watch the trailer.
