Ilan Eshkeri recently recorded the score for the upcoming drama Coriolanus. The movie marks the directorial debut of actor Ralph Fiennes who also stars in the movie alongside Gerard Butler, Vanessa Redgrave and Brian Cox. In the movie based on Shakespeare’s play adapted by Oscar nominated screenwriter John Logan (Gladiator, The Last Samurai, The Aviator), a banished hero of Rome allies with a sworn enemy to take his revenge on the city. According to the composer’s Facebook page, the score is in a minimalist contemporary style. No release date has been set yet for Coriolanus, but the movie is expected to open next year.
In related news, Eshkeri recently recorded music for Sony UK’s feature length TV commercial A Sony Christmas Carol. Eshkeri collaborated with world renowned pianist Lang Lang who performs on the score. Finally, Eshkeri also has the upcoming thriller Blitz coming up.
