Film Music Reporter has learned that John Debney has been hired to score the upcoming romantic comedy No Strings. The movie stars Natalie Portman, Ashton Kutcher, Cary Elwes, Olivia Thirlby and Kevin Kline and is directed by Ivan Reitman. No Strings is Debney’s and Reitman’s first collaboration. Reitman previously worked with such composers as Elmer Bernstein (Ghostbusters), Randy Edelman (Kindergarten Cop), John Powell (Evolution) and James Newton Howard (Dave). In the movie, a guy and girl try to keep their relationship strictly physical, but it’s not long before they learn that they want something more.
