Clint Mansell is currently scoring the upcoming action thriller Faster. The movie directed by George Tillman Jr. (Men of Honor, Notorious) is starring Dwayne Johnson, Maggie Grace, Jennifer Carpenter, Tom Berenger, Carla Gugino and Billy Bob Thornton. In the film, an ex-con sets out to avenge his brother’s death after they were double-crossed during a heist years ago. The movie marks the third release of CBS Films and is scheduled to come out on November 24.
Mansell is also attached to score Duncan Jones’ science fiction drama Source Code. The movie starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Vera Farmiga, Michelle Monaghan and Jeffrey Wright marks the composer’s second collaboration with director Duncan Jones after last year’s indie sci-fi drama Moon. Source Code is currently scheduled to be released on April 15, 2011 by Summit Entertainment. Mansell also has the Darren Aronofsky thriller Black Swan coming out on December 1 by Fox Searchlight. The movie zeros in on the relationship between a veteran ballet dancer and a rival. Black Swan is starring Natalie Portman, Mila Kunis and Vincent Cassel and premiered in this year’s Venice and Toronto film festivals where it received mostly very positive critical reaction.
