Marcelo Zarvos recently finished work on his score for the HBO biopic You Don’t Know Jack. The projects marks Zarvos’ second collaboration with award-winning director Barry Levinson who previously worked together on the satire What Just Happened?. You Don’t Know Jack offers a look at the life and work of doctor-assisted suicide advocate Jack Kevorkian, played by Al Pacino. Pacino is joined by Danny Huston, Susan Sarandon and John Goodman. Brooklyn’s Finest, another Zarvos project opens in theaters today. The score to the crime thriller directed by Antoine Fuqua and starring Richard Gere, Don Cheadle, Ethan Hawke and Wesley Snipes will be released by Varese Sarabande Records on March 23.

Coming out later this year is the comedy Please Give. The movie directed by Nicole Holofcener (Friends with Money) stars Catherine Keener, Amanda Peet, Oliver Platt and Rebecca Hall. In the movie, a husband and wife butt heads with the granddaughters of the elderly woman who lives in apartment the couple owns. Please Give premiered at this year’s Sundance film festival and will be released later this year by Sony Pictures Classics.

Zarvos also has the teen fantasy romance Beastly coming up this summer. The movie directed by Daniel Barnz (Phoebe in Wonderland) is a modern-day take on the “Beauty and the Beast” tale where a New York teen is transformed into a hideous monster in order to find true love. It stars Neil Patrick Harris, Vanessa Hudgens and Mary-Kate Olsen is scheduled to be released on July 30 by CBS Films.
