John Lunn is currently recording his score for the upcoming drama Downton Abbey: A New Era. The film is directed by Simon Curtis (Woman in Gold, My Week with Marilyn) and stars original cast members Hugh Bonneville, Elizabeth McGovern, Maggie Smith, Michelle Dockery, Penelope Wilton, Laura Carmichael, Jim Carter,Phyllis Logan, Robert James-Collier, Lesley Nicol, Sophie McShera and Joanne Froggatt . They are joined by Hugh Dancy, Laura Haddock, Nathalie Baye, Dominic West, and Jonathan Zaccaï. Series creator Julian Fellowes wrote the screenplay. Gareth Neame and Liz Trubridge return as the project’s producers. Lunn has previously scored all episodes of the TV series, as well as the first feature, which was released in 2019. The composer’s music is being recorded with the Chamber Orchestra of London at AIR Studios. Downton Abbey: A New Era is set to be released in theaters nationwide on March 18, 2022 by Focus Features.

Lunn also continues to score ITV’s Shetland, which just finished its sixth season run last month, as well as Netflix’s The Last Kingdom, which will return for a fifth and final season in 2022.
