Aaron Zigman (The Notebook, John Q, The Proposal, Sex and the City: The Movie, Bridge to Terabithia) has been hired to score the upcoming romantic comedy A Nice Girl Like You. The film is directed by Chris & Nick Riedell (Camp Takota) and stars Lucy Hale, Jackie Cruz, Leonidas Gulaptis, Skye P. Marshall, Stephen Friedrich, Adhir Kalyan and Mindy Cohn. The movie follows a violinist who is thrown for a loop when she is accused of being too inhibited by her ex-boyfriend and – in an effort to prove him wrong – creates a rather wild to-do list. Andrea Marcellus wrote the screenplay based on the memoir Pornology by Ayn Carrillo-Gailey. Jina Panebianco, Nicholas Bogner and Melanie Greene (Californication, Aquarius) are producing the CaliWood Pictures production. A Nice Girl Like You is currently in post-production and is expected to premiere in 2020.

Zigman also has the indie drama Gossamer Folds directed by Lisa Donato and starring Alexandra Gray, Jackson Robert Scott, Sprague Grayden, Shane West, Ethan Suplee, Yeardley Smith, Brenda Currin, Jen Richards and Franklin Ojeda Smith. The movie centers on old a 9-year old boy who is uprooted and unwillingly moved to the suburbs of Kansas City, where finds solace in the unlikely friendships of his new next door neighbors: a retired African-American college professor and his transgender daughter. Bridget Flanery wrote the screenplay. Jordan Foley & Jonathan Rosenthal (Desolate, All Square) and Adam Carl are producing the drama, which is also expected to premiere next year.
