Ludwig Goransson (Black Panther, Creed, Community, Fruitvale Station) has signed on to score the upcoming superhero movie Venom. The film is directed by Ruben Fleischer (Zombieland, Gangster Squad) and stars Tom Hardy in the title role, alongside Michelle Williams, Riz Ahmed, Scott Haze and Reid Scott. Th movie is based Marvel Entertainment’s characters created by David Michelinie & Todd McFarlane. No plot details have been announced yet. Avi Arad (Spider-Man, Iron Man), Matt Tolmach (The Amazing Spider-Man, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle) and Amy Pascal (Spider-Man: Homecoming, The Post) are producing the project. Goransson has previously collaborated with Fleischer on 2011’s 30 Minutes or Less. Venom is set to be released on October 5, 2018 by Sony Pictures. (Deadline)
