Paul Haslinger has been tapped to score the upcoming thriller Ride. The film is written and directed by Jeremy Ungar and stars Bella Thorne, Will Brill and Jessie T Usher. The movie takes place over the course of one night in Los Angeles and follows a young woman as she hails a ride on an app unaware that she will be joined by a sociopath. Keith Kjarval (A Single Shot) and Tyler Jackson & Sefton Fincham (What They Had) are producing the Unified Pictures production. Ride is currently in post-production. No word yet on a release date.
Haslinger (Underworld, Half and Catch Fire, Crank, Death Race) also continues to score AMC’s Fear the Walking Dead, which will return for its fourth season on April 15 The composer also has the horror drama Wildling coming up. The movie is co-written and directed by Fritz Bohm and stars Bel Powley, Brad Dourif, Liv Tyler, Collin Kelly-Sordelet, James Le Gros, Troy Ruptash, Arlo Mertz and Aviva Winick. The film revolves around a blossoming teenager who uncovers the dark secret behind her traumatic childhood. Celine Rattray (Bernei, Novitiate), Trudie Styler (Moon, Filth), Charlotte Ubben and Liv Tyler are producing the project. The thriller will premiere next month at the SXSW Film Festival and has recently been picked up by IFC Midnight for a release later this year.
