Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman are attached to compose the score for an original feature musical based on the book Everything Is Coming Up Profits: The Golden Age Of Industrial Musicals. Will Ferrell and Kristen Wiig are attached to develop the project, which has sold to Amblin Partners. Steve Levenson (Masters of Sex, Dear Evan Hansen stage musical) is writing the screenplay and Marc Platt (La La Land, Bridge of Spies, Into the Woods, Legally Blonde) will produce the film with Adam Siegel (Drive, 2 Guns). The book Everything Is Coming Up Profits is written by Steve Young & Mike Murphy and reveals how corporate America employed Broadway talent to take part in industrial shows from the 1950s to the 1980s to help motivate sales forces and educate employees on products.
