Stephen Warbeck has been hired to score the upcoming TNT event series Will. The show stars Laurie Davidson as the young William Shakespeare. Olivia DeJonge, Colm Meaney, Mattias Inwood, Jamie Campbell Bower and Ewen Bremner are co-starring. The drama opens with Shakespeare just arriving onto the punk-rock theater scene in 16th century London. Craig Pearce (The Great Gatsby, Moulin Rouge!, Romeo + Juliet) has written the pilot episode and is executive producing the project with Alison Owen (Saving Mr. Banks, Me Before you) and Debra Hayward (Les Miserables), Vince Gerardis (Flashforward), Howard Braunstein (The Client List), Louise Rosager and Shekhar Kapur (Elizabeth, The Four Feathers) who also directed the pilot. Will is set to premiere in 2017 on TNT.
Warbeck’s recent projects also include Nick Hamm’s The Journey starring Timothy Spall & Colm Meaney, which just premiered at the Venice and Toronto Film Festivals and was picked up by IFC Films for a domestic release in 2017.
