Christophe Beck is reteaming with director Doug Liman on the upcoming thriller Mena. The film stars Tom Cruise, Domhnall Gleeson, Jesse Plemons, Caleb Landry Jones, Lola Kirke, Sarah Wright, Jayma Mays, Benito Martinez, E. Roger Mitchell and Alejandro Edda. The movie follows a TWA pilot recruited by the CIA to provide reconnaissance on the burgeoning communist threat in Central America in the 1980s who finds himself in charge of one of the biggest covert CIA operations. Gary Spinelli (Stash House) has written the screenplay. Brian Grazer (A Beautiful Mind, 24, Apollo 13, Empire) is producing the project for Imagine Entertainment, alongside Brian Oliver & Tyler Thompson (Black Swan, Rush, Black Mass) for Cross Creek Pictures and Doug Davidson (The Strangers, The Lake House) for Quadrant Pictures. Beck previously scored Liman’s last feature Edge of Tomorrow. The director previously collaborated with John Powell on his previous four movies, The Bourne Identity, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Jumper and Fair Game. Mena is set to be released on January 6, 2017 by Universal Pictures.
