Daniel Pemberton (Steve Jobs, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., The Counselor) has composed the music for the French/Belgian drama From the Land of the Moon (Mal de piers). The film is directed by Nicole Garcia (The Adversary, Place Vendome) and stars Marion Cotillard, Louis Garrel, Alex Brendemühl, Brigitte Rouan, Victoire Du Bois, Aloïse Sauvage and Daniel Para. The movie is based on the novel by Milena Agu and centers on a woman in post-World War II Europe who’s torn between the man she’s meant to marry and a charming war veteran. Garcia has also written the screenplay with Jacques Fieschi (Yves Saint Laurent). Alain Attal (Tell No One, Blood Ties, Polisse) is producing the project. From the Land of The Moon just premiered at the Cannes Film Festival and will be released in France this fall. Sundance Selects has picked up domestic distribution rights. No word yet on a release date.
