Varese Sarabande has announced the latest titles in the label’s CD Club series. They include a deluxe edition of the soundtrack for the 1996 action thriller Executive Decision directed by Stuart Baird and starring Kurt Russell, Steven Seagal, Halle Berry and John Leguizamo. The album features the expanded score from the film composed and conducted by Jerry Goldsmith (The Omen, Chinatown, Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Patton, Planet of the Apes), including previously unreleased music. Varese’s other new CD Club titles include a deluxe edition of the soundtrack for the 1988 sci-fi fantasy comedy sequel Cocoon: The Return directed by Daniel Petrie and starring Don Ameche, Wilford Brimley, Courteney Cox, Hume Cronyn, Jack Gilford and Steve Guttenberg. The album features the expanded and remastered score from the film composed and conducted by James Horner (Titanic, Avatar, Aliens, Braveheart, The Amazing Spider-Man, A Beautiful Mind, Apollo 13) who previously scored Ron Howard’s 1985 original film. The third new CD Club release is the first full soundtrack album for the 1979 drama Bloodline directed by Terence Young and starring Audrey Hepburn, Ben Gazzara, James Mason, Irene Papas and Omar Sharif. The album features the film’s original music composed and conducted by recent Academy Award winner Ennio Morricone (Once Upon a Time in the West, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, The Mission, The Hateful Eight, The Untouchables).
