hateful-eightDecca Records will release the official soundtrack album for Quentin Tarantino’s western The Hateful Eight. The album features the film’s original music composed by Ennio Morricone (Once Upon a Time in the West, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, The Mission). Also included are the songs featured in the film, including The White Stripes’ Apple Blossom, David Hess’ Now You’re All Alone, Roy Orbison’s There Won’t Be Many Coming Home, as well as dialogue clips from the movie. The soundtrack will be released on December 18, 2015 and is now available for pre-order on AmazonThe Hateful Eight is written and directed by Tarantino and stars Samuel L. Jackson, Kurt Russell, Walton Goggins, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Tim Roth, Michael Madsen, Bruce Dern, Demian Bichir and Channing Tatum. The movie is set on a wintry Wyoming landscape as a storm overtakes a stagecoach on a mountainside stopover. The western will be released nationwide on December 25 by the Weinstein Company.     Lord knows Quentin doesn’t hold back on soundtracks, and recently the quality has only risen, excited for the movie and the sound.

    As I said in my last comment ,That was then ,this is now. A vintage Italian western score ?
    I don’t think so .But man am I holding my breath, for something we can all whistle.

    This will be the first Morricone western score since the comedy western Occhio Alla Penna(Buddy Goes West)in 1981 starring Bud Spencer and Joe Bugner(the boxer).
    I am looking forward to this score but Morricone has steered away from the music he composed in the “Dollar” westerns.
