Fox International Studios announced this week that Atticus Ross has been hired to score the upcoming Cinemax original series Outcast. The show is based on the Skybound/Image comic title by creator Robert Kirkman (The Walking Dead) and artist Paul Azaceta and follows a young man who has been plagued by demonic possession all his life and, with the help of a preacher with personal demons of his own, embarks on a journey to find answers and regain the normal life he lost. The drama stars Patrick Fugit, Philip Glenister and Gabriel Bateman. Kirkman is executive producing the project with Chris Black, David Alpert, Sharon Tal Yguado (The Listener) and Sue Naegle. Adam Vingard (You’re Next, The Guest) has directed the pilot episode. Outcast is expected to premiere later this year on Cinemax.
As previously reported, Ross also has the drama Triple Nine directed by John Hillcoat and starring Casey Affleck, Woody Harrelson, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Kate Winslet coming up. The film has recently pushed back from its original release date this September to March 4, 2016.
