Nathan Barr has been tapped to score the upcoming WE tv original series South of Hell. The show stars Mena Suvari, Zachary Booth, Bill Irwin, Drew Moerlein, Lamman Rucker and Paulina Singer. The supernatural thriller is set in Savannah, GA and follows a demon hunter whose power stems from within. Eli Roth who previously collaborated with Barr on such projects as Hostel, Cabin Fever and Hemlock Grove directed the pilot episode. He is also executive producing the series with Jason Blum (Paranormal Activity, Insidious, Whiplash), James Manos, Jr. (Dexter, The Shield), Gerard Bocaccio, Stewart Till and Gene Stein are executive producing the Sonar Entertainment and Blumhouse Television production. Matt Lambert has written the first episode. South of Hell marks WE tv’s second scripted drama following Salem and is set to premiere later this year.
Barr’s latest movie project, The Boy Next Door, is currently playing in theaters. The composer is also returning to score the third season of The Americans, which premieres tonight on FX.
