Ilan Eshkeri has recently recorded his score for the upcoming thriller Black Sea. The film is directed by Kevin Macdonald and stars Jude Law, Grigoriy Dobrygin, Konstantin Khabenskiy, Sergey Kolesnikov, Scoot McNairy, Ben Mendelsohn, Sergey Puskepalis, Michael Smile, David Threlfall and Jodie Whittaker. The movie follows a rogue submarine captain who, after being laid off from a salvage company, pulls together a misfit crew to go after a sunken treasure rumored to be lost in the depths of the Black Sea. Dennis Kelly (Utopia) has written the screenplay. Macdonald is also producing the project with Charles Steel (Marley) for Cowboy Films. The director has previously collaborated with such composers as Alex Heffes (The Last King of Scotland, State of Play), Atli Orvarsson (The Eagle) and Jon Hopkins (How I Live Now). Black Sea is set to be released on January 23, 2015 by Focus Features.
