Benjamin Wallfisch has been tapped to score the upcoming horror thriller Crawlspace. The film is directed by Phil Claydon (Lesbian Vampire Killers) and stars Michael Vartan, Erin Moriarty, Nadine Velazquez, Blake Jenner, Ronnie Gene Blevins and Misty Upham. The movie follows a widower with a daughter who gets remarried and has the opportunity for a new start in a new house and immediately falls prey to strange occurrences. James Wan (The Conjuring, Insidious, Fast & Furious 7) is producing the New Line Cinema production with Rick Alvarez (A Haunted House, White Chicks) for The Safran Company. Gary Dauberman (Annabelle) has written the screenplay. Crawlspace is currently in post-production. No word yet on a release date.
Wallfisch whose previous film scoring credits include The Escapist, Conquest 1453 and Dear Wendy, as well as last year’s Summer in February and Hours also has composed the music for the drama Desert Dancer starring Freida Pinto & Alfred Molina, which is set to be released on August 15, 2014 by Relativity Media. The composer is also scoring the upcoming thriller Pressure. The film is directed by Ron Scalpello and stars Danny Huston, Matthew Goode and Joe Cole. The movie follows four deep sea divers who become trapped in their saturation bell at the bottom of the ocean off the Kenyan coast. Alan McKenna and Paul Staheli have written the screenplay based on an original story by Louis Baxter. Jason Newmark (Triangle, Severance) and Laurie Cook are producing the project for Bigscope Films. Pressure is expected to be released later this year.
