Gabriel Mann has been hired to score the upcoming CW drama Star-Crossed. The show is created by Meredith Averill (The Good Wife, Life on Mars) and stars Aimee Teegarden, Matt Lanter, Grey Damon, Natalie Hall, Malese Jow, Titus Makin, Jr., Chelsea Gilligan and Greg Finley. The series chronicles the epic romance between a human girl and an alien boy when he and eight others of his kind are integrated into a suburban high school. Averill is also executive producing the CBS Television Studios and Warner Bros. Television production with Josh Appelbaum & Andre Nemec (Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol), Scott Rosenberg (October Road) Bryan Furst & Sean Furst (Daybreakers), Daniel Gutman and Richard Shehard (The Matador, The Hunting Party, Ringer). Gary Fleder (Runaway Jury, Kiss the Girls) has directed the pilot episode. Star-Crossed is set to premiere as a mid-season replacement in early 2014 on the CW. The composer of such shows as ABC’s Modern Family, the Sundance Channel’s Recitify and ABC Family’s Twisted is also set to score the upcoming NBC comedy Welcome to the Family. The show is created by Mike Sikowitz (Rules of Engagement, Friends) and stars Mike O’Malley, Mary McCormack, Ricardo Chavira, Justina Machado, Ella Rae Peck, Joseph Haro and Fabrizio Guido. Eva Longoria is also set to guest star on the comedy. The series centers on a Caucasian and Latino family forced together by the unplanned pregnancy of their teen kids. Sikowitz is also executive producing the Sony Pictures Television production with Jamie Tarses (Happy Endings, Franklin & Bash) and Michael Engler (The Big C, Party of Five) who also scored the pilot episode.
