Henry Jackman is scoring the upcoming cop thriller Man on a Ledge. The movie starring Sam Worthington, Elizabeth Banks, Ed Harris, Jamie Bell, Anthony Mackie, Edward Burns and Kyra Sedgwick centers on an ex-cop and now wanted fugitive who stands on the ledge of a high-rise building while an NYPD hostage negotiator tries to talk him down. The film is directed by Asger Leth who previously helmed the documentary Ghosts of Cite Soleil. Pablo Fenjves, Chris Gorak (Right at Your Door) and Erich & Jon Hoeber (Red, the upcoming Battleship) wrote the project’s script. Lorenzo di Bonaventura (Transformers, Salt), David Ready and Mark Vahradian (Red) are producing. Man on a Ledge is now in post-production and will be released by Summit Entertainment on January 13, 2012.

Jackman’s music can currently be heard in theaters in X-Men: First Class and later this month in Disney’s Winnie the Pooh. Coming up for the composer is the animated film Puss in Boots. The Dreamworks Animation film directed by Chris Miller (Shrek the Third) tells the story about the events leading up to the sword fighting cat’s meeting with Shrek and his friends. The movie’s voice talent includes Antonio Banderas, Salma Hayek, Zach Galifianakis and Billy Bob Thornton. The projects marks Jackman’s second project for Dreamworks Animation after the 2009 film Monsters vs Aliens. Puss in Boots will be released on November 4, 2011.
