According to the Gorfaine/Schwartz agency, William Ross is attached to score the upcoming sports drama Seven Days in Utopia. The movie stars Robert Duvall, Melissa Leo and Lucas Black. The film marks the directorial debut of Matt Russell who previously has worked as a visual effects coordinator on such movies as Live Free and Die Hard and A Night at the Museum. According to the film’s official blog, Seven Days in Utopia follows the story of Luke Chisolm, a talented young golfer set on making the pro tour. William Ross is no stranger to sports movies, having scored such titles as Tin Cup or The Game of Their Lives. No release date has been announced for the independent movie, but it is expected to open in late 2011 at the earliest.
Ross also has the comedy Balls to the Walls coming up. The movie is directed by Penelope Spheeris (Wayne’s World), who previously worked with the composer on The Little Rascals and Black Sheep. In the film starring Jenna Dewan, Mimi Rogers and Colleen Camp, an engaged guy is forced by his future father-in-law to take a side job moonlighting as an exotic dancer in order to pay extravagant wedding neither of them can afford. No release date has been set yet for the comedy.
