George S. Clinton recently scored the upcoming comedy thriller Salvation Boulevard. The movie stars Greg Kinnear, Ed Harris, Jennifer Connelly, Pierce Brosnan and Marisa Tomei. The film is directed by George Ratiff who previously directed the 2007 thriller Joshua with a score by Nico Muhly. Clinton replaced composer Jeff Beal who was previously assigned to score the film. Salvation Boulevard is set in the world of mega-churches in which a former Deadhead-turned-born again-Christian finds himself on the run from fundamentalist members of his mega-church who will do anything to protect their larger-than-life pastor. The movie will premiere at next year’s Sundance film festival. No distribution deal or release date has been announced.

Clinton also has the TV movie Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure coming up. The movie stars Ashley Tisdale and centers around her character from High School Musical. In the movie, Sharpay Evans travels to New York where she is pursuing a Broadway career but it’s her dog who lands an acting gig first. The movie is directed by Michael Lembeck, who previously worked with the composer on the theatrical features The Santa Clause 2, The Santa Clause 3: Escape Clause and Tooth Fairy.
