Nathan Whitehead is reteaming with director James DeMonaco on the upcoming thriller sequel The Purge 2. The film stars Frank Grillo, Michael K. Williams, Zach Gilford, Carmen Ejogo and Kiele Sanchez. No plot details have been revealed yet, but the movie is reportedly taking place in a similar setting to the original, where, once a year, there’s a 12-hour period when all crime is allowed and condoned. DeMonaco is also writing the screenplay and Jason Blum (Paranormal Activity, Sinister, Insidious) is once again producing the Blumhouse production with Sebastien Lemercier and Michael Bay’s Platinum Dunes company. Whitehead has previously scored last year’s original film, which grossed almost $65 Mio. at the domestic box office.
