Harry Gregson-Williams has been hired to score the upcoming Disneynature documentary Penguins. The film is directed by Alastair Fothergill (Earth, African Cats, Chimpanzee), co-directed by Mark Linfield and Jeff Wilson and tells the coming-of-age story about an Adélie penguin named Steve who joins millions of fellow males in the icy Antarctic spring on a quest to build a suitable nest, find a life partner and start a family. The directors are also producing the project with Keith Scholey and Roy Conli. Gregson-Williams has previously scored Disneynature’s 2015 feature Monkey Kingdom directed by Linfield & Fothergill.

Steven Price Scoring Disneynature’s ‘Dolphins’
Steven Price has recently recorded his score for the upcoming Disneynature documentary Dolphins. The film is directed by Alastair Fothergill (Planet Earth, Chimpanzee, African Cats) & Keith Scholey (Bears, African Cats) and tells the story of Echo, a young dolphin who’s having trouble deciding between growing up and having fun. Scholey is also producing the project with Jane Hamlin. Price (Gravity, Suicide Squad, Fury, Baby Driver) has previously scored the Fothergill-produced BBC Earth natural history docu-series The Hunt.
‘Born in China’ Soundtrack Details
The full details of the soundtrack album for the Disneynature documentary Born in China have been revealed. The album features the film’s original music composed by Barnaby Taylor (Wild China, Shank, A State of Mind), as well as the original song Everything Everything by American Authors, which is already available as a digital single. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow by Walt Disney Records and will be available to download on Amazon. Born in China directed by Lu Chuan and narrated by John Krasinski follows the adventures of three animal families – the majestic panda, the savvy golden monkey and the elusive snow leopard.

Walt Disney Records has released a soundtrack album for Disneynature’s documentary Monkey Kingdom. The album features the film’s original music composed by Harry Gregson-Williams (Shrek series, The Chronicles of Narnia, Kingdom of Heaven, Man on Fire). Also included is the original song It’s Our World by Jacquie Lee, which is also available as a single, as well as songs by The Patterson Tribe and Nikki. The film is directed by Mark Linfield (Chimpanzee, Earth) and co-directed by Alastair Fothergill (African Cats, Bears, Deep Blue) and spotlights the reality of a newborn monkey and its mother, struggling to survive within the competitive social hierarchy of the Temple Troop, a dynamic group of monkeys who live in ancient ruins found deep in the jungles of South Asia. Linfield and Fothergill are also producing the project. Monkey Kingdom is set to be released on Earth Day, April 17, 2015 by Walt Disney Pictures.

Bears is directed by Keith Scholey & Alastair Fothergill and showcases a year in the life of a bear family as two impressionable young cubs are taught life’s most important lessons. The Disneynature production is narrated by John C. Reilly. The documentary is will be released nationwide on April 18 by Walt Disney Pictures.

The film is directed by Alastair Fothergill (Earth, African Cats, Chimpanzee) and Keith Scholey (African Cats) and showcases a year in the life of two mother bears as they impart life lessons to their impressionable young cubs. Set against a majestic Alaskan backdrop teeming with life, their journey begins as winter comes to an end and the bears emerge from hibernation to face the bitter cold. Fenton has previously scored Disneynature’s first release Earth, which was released in 2007. Bears is set to be released on April 18, 2014 by Walt Disney Pictures in time for next Earth Day. Nicholas Hooper to Score ‘Chimpanzee’
Nicholas Hooper is currently scoring the Disneynature documentary Chimpanzee. The movie is directed by Alastair Fothergrill (The Blue Planet, Deep Blue) and Mark Linfield (Earth) and centers on a family of chimps living in the Ivory Coast and Ugandan rain forests. Hooper who is best known for his scores for Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix and Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince previously worked with Fothergrill on Disneynature’s African Cats, which was released earlier this year.
