Neon announced today that composer Antonio Pinto (City of God, Nine Days, McFarland, USA, The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind, Lord of War) is set to reteam with director Asif Kapadia on the upcoming documentary thriller 2073. The film is inspired by Chris Marker’s 1962 experimental sci-fi movie La Jetée and centers on the challenges humanity will face in a dystopian future 50 years from now. Kapadia (The Warrior, The Return) is also producing the Double Agent, Neon and Film4 production with George Chignell (Citizen K). Davis Guggenheim (An Inconvenient Truth, Waiting for Superman), Nicole Stott and Jonathan Silberberg serve as executive producers. Pinto has previously scored the director’s documentary features Amy, Senna and Diego Maradona. No release date has been announced yet for 2073.
Pinto is also expected to return to score the second season of Apple TV+’s The Mosquito Coast.
