Ariel Marx (Shiva Baby, The Tale, Rebel Hearts, Ted Bundy: Falling for a Killer) has been tapped to score the upcoming Peacock limited series A Friend of the Family. The show is created by Nick Antosca (Channel Zero, The Act) and stars Anna Paquin, Jake Lacy, Colin Hanks, Lio Tipton, Mckenna Grace, Austin Stowell, Hendrix Yancey, Patrick Fischler Bree Elrod and Philip Ettinger. The 9-part drama tells the true story of the Broberg family, whose daughter was kidnapped multiple times over a period of years by a charismatic, obsessed family “friend.” Antosca is also executive producing the UCP production with Alex Hedlund (Chucky), as well as Eliza Hittman (Never Rarely Sometimes Always, Beach Rats) who also directed multiple episodes. Marx has previously scored the Antosca-produced Hulu limited series Candy. A Friend of the Family will premiere on October 6, 2022 on Peacock.
Marx’s other recent projects include the FX docuseries Children of the Underground, which just premiered earlier this month. She has also recently scored the thriller Sanctuary directed by Zachary Wigon and starring Margaret Qualley and Christopher Abbott. The movie, which follows a heir to a hotel empire and the dominatrix who has primed him for success, will premiere next month at the 2022 Toronto International Film Festival.
