Daniel Wohl (Project Blue Book, Search Party, The Stand In, They’ll Love Me When I’m Dead) has composed the original music for the upcoming Netflix original film The Weekend Away. The movie is directed by Kim Farrant (Strangerland, Angel of Mine) and stars Leighton Meester, Christina Wolfe, Ziad Bakri, Luke Norris, Iva Mihalić, Amar Bukvić, Adrian Pezdirc and Parth Thakerar. The thriller is based on a novel by Sarah Alderson (who also wrote the screenplay) and follows two best friends on a weekend getaway in Croatia when one of them is accused of killing the other and her efforts to get to the truth uncover a painful secret. Ben Pugh (The Courier, The Autopsy of Jane Doe), Charlie Morrison (Night Teeth) and Erica Steinberg (Grindhouse, Outside the Wire) are producing the project for 42. The Weekend Away will premiere on March 3, 2022 exclusively on Netflix.
Also coming up for Wohl is Allison Otto’s documentary The Thief Collector, which is expected to premiere this year.
