Martin Phipps (The Crown, Woman in Gold, War & Peace, The Honourable Woman, The Aftermath, Peaky Blinders) has composed the original music for the upcoming documentary The Princess. The film is directed by Ed Perkins (Tell Me Who I Am, Black Sheep) and shines a light on the private life of a princess and the eventual crisis that spilled throughout the British monarchy following her tragic death in August 19, 1997. Simon Chinn (Man on Wire, Searching for Sugar Man) & Jonathan Chinn (Whitney, Tina) are producing the project for Lightbox. The Princess will premiere next month at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival and is set to be released in UK theaters in the summer of 2022 coinciding with the 25th anniversary of Diana’s passing. The movie will debut in the U.S. on HBO and on HBO Max.
Phipps also continues to score Netflix’s The Crown, which will return for its fifth season in November of 2022.
