Isabella Summers (aka Isa Machine of Florence + the Machine) has made her feature film scoring debut on the upcoming drama Call Jane. The film is directed by Phyllis Nagy (Carol, Mrs. Harris) and stars Elizabeth Banks, Sigourney Weaver, Kate Mara, Wunmi Mosaku, Rupert Friend, Chris Messina, Aida Turturro, Cory Michael Smith and Grace Edwards. The movie tells the story of a traditional 1960s housewife who unexpectedly falls pregnant and finds an underground abortion movement that saves her life and gives her a sense of purpose: to help other women take control of their destinies. Hayley Schore and Roshan Sethi (The Resident) wrote the screenplay. Robbie Brenner (Dallas Buyers Club, Escape Plan) is producing the project wirg Kevin McKeon, David Wulf (The Card Counter) and Lee Broda (Lansky). Call Jane is expected to premiere in 2022.
Summers’ previous scoring credits include Hulu’s Little Fire Everywhere and Amazon’s Panic and Paradise City. She is also expected to return to score the second seasons of Apple TV+’s Physical and Netflix’s Sex/Life (with Mark Isham).
