Thomas Wander has recently started recording his score for the upcoming sci-fi disaster thriller Moonfall. The film is directed by Roland Emmerich (Independence Day, Stargate) and stars Halle Berry, Patrick Wilson, John Bradley, Michael Peña, Charlie Plummer, Eme Ikwuakor, Kelly Yu, Carolina Bartczak, and Donald Sutherland. The movie follows an NASA executive and former astronaut who is convinced she has the key to saving the world after a mysterious force knocks the Moon from its orbit around Earth and sends it hurtling on a collision course with life as we know it. Emmerich also co-wrote the screenplay with Harald Kloser and Spenser Cohen (Extinction). Emmerich & Kloser are also producing the project for Centropolis Entertainment. Wander has previously co-scored most of Emmerich’s features this decade, including 2012, Midway, White House Down, 10,000 BC, Anonymous and Independence Day: Resurgence with Kloser and also provided additional music to the director’s The Day After Tomorrow. Moonfall is set to be released in theaters nationwide on February 4, 2022 by Lionsgate. (ORF & Krone)
