Premiering on Tuesday, August 3, is the documentary Pray Away directed by Kristine Stolakis and executive produced by Ryan Murphy. The film’s original music is composed by Laura Karpman (Lovecraft Country, What If…?, Underground, Paris Can Wait, Set It Up, Step, Black Nativity) & Nora Kroll-Rosenbaum (Bird Karma, Stockholm, Pennsylvania, Regarding Susan Sontag, Don’t Look Deeper, Half the Picture). The movie, which follows a group of ex-leaders and a survivor of the so-called “conversion therapy” movement as they speak out about its harm to the LGBTQ+ community and its devastating persistence, premiered at this year’s Tribeca Film Festival and will be available to stream exclusively on Netflix.
Premiering in the U.S. on Thursday, August 5 is the French horror comedy Teddy written and directed by Ludovic & Zoran Boukherma and starring Anthony Bajon, Noémie Lvovsky and Christine Gautier. Amaury Chabauty (Vendeur) has composed the film’s original music. 22D Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score in June when the movie opened in French theaters. Premiering on Friday, August 6 is the Apple TV+ original series Mr. Corman created by Joseph Gordon-Levitt and starring Gordon-Levitt himself, Arturo Castro, Debra Winger, Hector Hernandez, Juno Temple, Bobby Hall a.k.a. Logic, Jamie Chung and Shannon Woodward. The show’s original music is composed by Nathan Johnson (Knives Out, Looper, Brick, The Brothers Bloom, Don Jon, Kill the Messenger, Young Ones).
