Morgan Kibby (aka White Sea) (Grand Army, The Short History of the Long Road) has composed the original music for the upcoming British period drama Mothering Sunday. The film is directed Eva Husson and stars Odessa Young, Josh O’Connor, Olivia Colman, Colin Firth and Sope Dirisu. The movie is based on Graham Swift’s novel of the same title and revolves around a maid living in post-World War I England whp secretly plans to meet with the man she loves before he leaves to marry another woman. Alice Birch (Lady Macbeth, Normal People) wrote the screenplay. Elizabeth Karlsen (Carol, Their Finest) and Stephen Woolley (The Crying Game, Colette) are producing the project for Number 9. Kibby has previously scored Husson’s last two features, Bang Gang: A Modern Love Story and Girls of the Sun. Mothering Sunday will premiere next month at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival.
