Sony Classical has announced a soundtrack album for the BBC Earth docu-series A Perfect Planet. The album features the show’s original music composed by Ilan Eshkeri (Stardust, The Young Victoria, Still Alice, Layer Cake, Shaun the Sheep Movie, Coriolanus) and performed by the London Metropolitan Orchestra and SinfoniaNord. The soundtrack will be released on January 8, 2021 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. A first single will be coming out on January 1. A Perfect Planet is narrated by Sir David Attenborough and explores how forces of nature – volcanoes, sunlight, weather and oceans – drive, shape and support Earth’s great diversity of wildlife. The final episode of the 5-part series produced by Silverback Films & Discovery examines the impact of humans on the natural world and asks what can be done to restore a perfect balance. The show will premiere in the UK on January 3 on BBC One.
