Rachel Portman (Emma, The Cider House Rules, Chocolat, Never Let Me Go, The Manchurian Candidate) has recently scored the upcoming Disney+ original movie Godmothered. The film is directed by Sharon Maguire (Bridget Jones’s Diary, Bridget Jones’s Baby) and stars Isla Fisher, Jillian Bell, Jane Curtin, Jillian Shea Spaeder, Willa Skye, Mary Elizabeth Ellis, Santiago Cabrera, Artemis Pebdani, Utkarsh Ambudkar, Stephnie Weir, as well as June Squibb and Carlease Burke. The comedy revolves around a young, inexperienced fairy godmother-in-training who upon hearing that her chosen profession is facing extinction, decides to show the world that people still need fairy godmothers. Kari Granlund (Lady and the Tramp) and Melissa K. Stack (The Other Woman) wrote the screenplay. Justin Springer (Dumbo, Prom) is producing the project and Ivan Reitman (Ghostbusters, Kindergarten Cop) serves as an executive producer. Godmothered will premiere on December 4, 2020 exclusively on Disney+.
