Plaza Mayor Company will release a soundtrack album for the Spanish sci-fi thriller The Platform (El Hoyo). The album features the film’s original music composed by Aránzazu Calleja (Bomb Scares, Birdboy: The Forgotten Children, No Controles, Taxi to Treasure Rock). The soundtrack will be released digitally next Friday, June 12 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also check out the full track list and listen to audio samples. The Platform is directed by Galder Gaztelu-Urrutia and stars Iván Massagué, Antonia San Juan, Zorion Eguileor, Emilio Buale and Alexandra Masangkay. The movie is set in a future dystopia and follows a group of prisoners housed in vertically stacked cells watch hungrily as food descends from above — feeding the upper tiers, but leaving those below ravenous and radicalized. The thriller premiered at last year’s Toronto Film Festival and is now available to stream on Netflix.
