Rupert Parkes (aka Photek) has recently scored the upcoming Netflix original film The Main Event. The movie is directed by Jay Karas (Break Point) and stars Seth Carr, Tichina Arnold, Adam Pally, Ken Marino, as well as WWE superstars Kofi Kingston, Mike “The Miz” Mizanin, Sheamus, and Babatunde Aiyegbusi. The family comedy centers on a young WWE fan possessing special powers from a magical mask who causes chaos when he enters a wrestling competition and fights an intimidating rival. Larry Postel and Zach Lewis & Jim Mahoney (Klaus) wrote the screenplay. Richard Lowell is producing the project for WWE Studios. The Main Event will premiere on April 10, 2020 exclusively on Netflix.
Parkes also continues to score ABC’s How to Get Away with Murder, which will return for its final episodes this coming Thursday, April 2. The composer has also written the music for the Jaden Smith- & Cara Delevingne-starring drama Life in a Year, which currently awaiting a release date.
