Last week, David Buckley (The Good Wife, The Forbidden Kingdom, Papillon) has recorded his score for the upcoming action thriller Angel Has Fallen. The film is directed by Ric Roman Waugh (Shot Caller, Snitch) and stars Gerard Butler, Morgan Freeman, Jada Pinkett Smith, Michael Landers, Tim Blake Nelson, Antonio Bustorff, Danny Huston, Lance Reddick and Piper Perabo. The movie is the follow-up to 2013’s Olympus Has Fallen & 2016’s London Has Fallen (both scored by Trevor Morris) and follows Mike Banning as he becomes the target of a terrorist attack, this time while mid-flight on Air Force One. Creighton Rothenberger & Katrin Benedikt (The Expendables 3) who scripted the previous two installments wrote the screenplay. Mark Gill & Matt O’Toole (The Hitman’s Bodyguard, Criminal), Alan Siegel (Law Abiding Citizen, Den of Thieves) and John Thompson (The Expendables) are producing the Millennium Films production. Angel Has Fallen is set to be released on August 23, 2019 by Lionsgate.
Buckley also continues to score Fox’s The Gifted (with John Ottman), which currently airs in its second season Tuesday nights and CBS All Access’ The Good Fight, which will return for its third season later this year. The composer has also recently scored the animated feature Arctic Dogs (originally entitled Arctic Justice), which will be released on November 1, 2019 by Entertainment Studios.
