Milan Records has announced a soundtrack release for Pawel Pawlikowski’s Polish drama Cold War. The 3-track single features the songs from the movie performed by lead actress Joanna Kulig and arranged by jazz pianist Marcin Masecki. The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. Cold War is co-written written and directed by Pawel Pawlikowski and stars Kulig, alongside Tomasz Kot. The movie is set against the background of the Cold War in 1950s Poland, Berlin, Yugoslavia and Paris and tells the story of a couple separated by politics, character flaws and unfortunate twists of fate. The drama, which has just been shortlisted earlier this week in the Foreign Film Category for next year’s Academy Awards, premiered at this year’s Cannes Film Festival and is being released in select theaters this weekend by Amazon Studios. Visit the official movie website for more information.
Here’s the track list of the single:
1. Dwa Serduszka (2:58)
2. Deux cœurs (2:54)
3. Loin de toi (1:56)
And yet, to date, all those incredible folk songs are not available? What a mystifying and frustrating decision some producer/distributor has foisted on us.
stupid decision to leave out the folk
The real travesty is that they are considering just these 3 single songs whereas the entire soundtrack is the masterpiece.
