Trevor Gureckis is currently scoring the upcoming movie adaptation of The Goldfinch. The film is directed by John Crowley (Brooklyn, Boy A) and stars Ansel Elgort, Nicole Kidman, Aneurin Barnard, Ashleigh Cummings, Sarah Paulson, Jeffrey Wright, Luke Wilson, Finn Wolfhard, Willa Fitzgerald, Oakes Fegley and Luke Kleintank. The drama is based Donna Tartt’s Pulitzer Prize-winning book of the same title and tells the story of Theodore Decker who, after surviving a bombing at the Metropolitan Museum of Art that kills his mother, is taken in by a wealthy Upper East Side family. Peter Straughan (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, The Debt) wrote the screenplay. Nina Jacobson (The Hunger Games, American Crime Story) and Brad Simpson (Crazy Rich Asians, Pose) are producing the Warner Bros. Pictures and Amazon Studios production. Gureckis has previously scored this year’s Seann William Scott-starring Blumhouse thriller Bloodline, which premiered at the 2018 Fantastic Fest, last year’s thriller Wetlands starring Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje & Heather Graham and 2015’s Rattle the Cage, among other movies. He also served as score producer on Paul Dano’s Wildlife with composer David Lang and was Philip Glass’ music assistant on films such as Notes on a Scandal and Transcendent Man. The Goldfinch is set to be released in theaters on October 11, 2019 by Warner Bros. Pictures before an exclusive streaming debut on Amazon Prime.
