Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for Barry Jenkins’ drama If Beale Street Could Talk. The album features the film’s original music composed by Nicholas Britell (The Big Short, Battle of the Sexes, Succession, Vice) who previously scored the director’s Moonlight, for which he received his first Academy Award nomination. The soundtrack will be released digitally on November 9 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. A vinyl version is also in the works. If Beale Street Could Talk is written and directed by Jenkins and stars KiKi Layne, Stephan James, Regina King, Colman Domingo, Teyonah Parris, Brian Tyree Henry and Michael Beach. The movie is based on James Baldwin’s novel and follows a woman as she races against the clock to prove her fiance’s innocence while carrying their first child to term. The drama premiered at this year’s Toronto Film Festival and will be released in select theaters on November 30 by Annapurna Pictures. Visit the official movie website for more information.
